Governors

What do governors do?

Hangleton school is a happy, inclusive school where staff and governors alike have high aspirations for the children.

Hangleton Governors are a dedicated team of people who all work hard to offer their skills and expertise on a voluntary basis.

They have a strong focus on three core strategic functions:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;

  2. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;

  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

The governors relentlessly pursue high standards for every child in the school and are rigorous in holding the leadership to account for the quality of teaching and learning. Of course we cannot ensure that every child reaches his/her potential without the support of their families. We value our partnership with parents, carers and the extended families – together we can provide a positive learning environment for the children to achieve their very best.
